Something For Everyone

Paddleboarding:
Case Mare has two paddle boards on site available for your use. We provide tie down/ractchet straps for your use to transport the boards to and from the beach. We also provide ankle leashes for the paddle boards. We recommend taking the board to Maho Bay, it is a lovely large, usually calm bay that is great for beginner paddle boards.

Kayaks:
If you are interested in kayaking, we recommend renting from the beach shack at Cinnamon Bay. It is a great area to get out and explore from. You can kayak to several of the cays off St. John, or around to Maho Bay. We also recommend Arawak Expeditions for kayak tours. www.arawakexp.com, or VI Eco Tours www.viecotours.com

Snorkeling:
We provide 8 sets of adult snorkel gear at Casa Mare.Snorkeling can be done from most of the beaches on St. John. We recommend Waterlemon Cay, Salt Pond Bay and Maho Bay (lots of sea turtles!). Or, take a boat excursion and get to snorkel places that you cannot get to from right off the beach.

Boating Excursions:
“Island Girl” is our private yacht that we offer to Casa Mare guests. She is a 34 foot Glacier Bay Power Catamaran. We offer full day/half day local waters trips, as well as full days trips to the British Virgin Islands. Please refer to your “Private Yacht” page for additional info.

Continental breakfast, freshly grilled Caribbean inspired lunch and top shelf liquor open bar is included with all local full day excursions. No lunch is provided on half day excursions.

Excursions to the British Virgin Islands includes the continental breakfast and open bar. We will stop at one of the many beach bars/restaurants for lunch. All BVI trips are an additional $45 cash per person for customs fees.

Please book your trip when you make your Villa reservation to be sure to secure the day you prefer for your excursion!

Full day private excursion is $2000.00. This includes fuel. Gratuity is not included. Customary gratuity on island is 20%- 25% for crew.

If you prefer to sail instead of motor, we can assist you in booking a sailing trip with another charter company on island. Please give us a call or email to discuss your options.

Hiking:
A large portion of St. John, USVI is National Park. Along with that are many wonderful hiking trails. We recommend stopping at the National Park Visitor’s Center and getting information about the park and hiking options. We also have guide books at the Villa to assist you in deciding the best hike for your group. Hiking on St. John definitely requires the appropriate shoes and lots of water to stay hydrated in the humid conditions. Please plan ahead accordingly.

The Reef Bay Hike is a very popular hike that we recommend. It is a full day park ranger guided hike. Please make reservations in advance by booking directly online here http://www.friendsvinp.org/news-a-events/book-a-guided-hike
